The Nigerian police has withdrawn the security aides approved for Tompolo by the Federal Government since 2009 under the leadership of late President Umaru Yar’Adua.

It was learnt that after Justice Ibrahim Buba issued the first bench warrant against the ex-militant leader, last month, the security aides, who had been assigned to Tompolo for nearly six years, were withdrawn. This was confirmed by a source close to Tompolo who spoke to Daily Sun yesterday.

Following the court order to produce Tompolo on February 19, security chiefs in the Niger-Delta were reportedly planning, on how to track down Tompolo .
