Ike Ekweremadu: Deputy Senate President condemns ex-Gov, Chime for moving to APC

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu

Chime’s defection was announced on Thursday, March 16, 2017, by South-East APC spokesman, Hyacinth Ngwu.

The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has condemned the former Governor of Enugu state, Sullivan Chime for decamping to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former Governor recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC

Chime’s defection was announced on Thursday, March 16, 2017, by South-East APC spokesman, Hyacinth Ngwu.

Speaking on the issue, the Deputy Senate President described the former Governor as a political novice.

Ekweremadu said this while speaking with Chime’s kinsmen at the Enugu state Governor’s lodge.

The former Governor’s kinsmen under the aegis of Udi Consultative Forum also pledged their allegiance to the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Reports say members of the Udi Consultative Forum also disowned Chime for decamping to the ruling APC.

According to Punch, Ekweremadu said “The problem is that our former governor (Chime) does not have sufficient experience in politics.

“If you watch what happened in Udi on Saturday (rally held to welcome Chime to the APC), no APC senator came; no APC member of the House of Representatives was there. The only governor that came there from Sokoto State (Aminu Tambuwal) was only passing by.

“Former governors that left in the past never recovered from their action.”

Ekweremadu also said Ugwuanyi will be Governor in 2019, despite Chime’s claim that the APC will take over power.

Meanwhile, the National Vice Chairman, South-East, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Emma Enukwu described Sullivan Chime as a progressive politician, who left indelible marks in the state.
